I've owned my System 60 for 4 years. The finish is first class! No chipping, fading, or any other defects. The gas filled lid dampers work really well. Opening and closing the carrier is easy. The latches and key hardware truly is Marine-grade. No rust or even discoloration and mine has been in every weather imaginable. The competitor rood-top carriers are flimsy and are bouncy going down the rode. This carrier is sturdy and does not bounce while driving. It can be bought directly from the factory for significantly less than what this seller is asking.

Other than that the rack is great, just wish that the discription had listed that you need the additional mounts. Be sure and check the SURCO's website and the application guide to find out what exactly you will need.

Larin LTG-60 Rear Cargo Carrier Review

(More customer reviews)We bought the Larin Cargo Carrier with collapsible sides at Joe's for about $80. It said it had a 500lb capacity but after about 400 miles carrying 3 small to medium sized EMPTY coolers the platform was noticeably sagging, by several inches, toward the ground. We got to our campsite and my husband took everything off the truck and discovered that the bar that attaches the shelf to the tow receiver was BENT!

We had no choice but to use it on the way back home, as there was nowhere else to put the empty coolers. We had to find the nearest hardware store and buy heavy-duty rope so we could hitch the carrier up via the roof rack and take the pressure off the ever-bending bar. I was able to lift the rack with the coolers on it so my husband could tie it and there's no way it weighed over 100lbs.

We're taking it back to Joe's asap on Monday so we can show the manager what a joke this product is and request a refund. This is junk! I wouldn't normally leave a review for a product I didn't even buy through Amazon, but I feel really strongly about warning potential buyers. Do some research and spend a little more money on another rack. I wish I had!

SportRack Explorer Roof Box Review

(More customer reviews)I have only a few complaints about this product.

First the material it is made of is thin and flimsy. It is certainly not as strong as some of the boxes made from ABS plastic. If you park in the sun for any time the plastic softens to the point where you may have trouble getting the hinges to engage to hold the top up. Another result of the softened plastic is the sagging of the hinge side of the lower portion of the box. This causes the top to sag down slightly reducing the clearance for loading items.

Another issue is the assembly. It was painfully cumbersome, and I am very mechanically inclined. It's definitely a two man job, one to hold the top while the other attaches and tightens the nuts and bolts.

Attaching to my vehicle (04 Dodge Durango) was a pain as well. The height of the vehicle made it challenging enough but attaching the "U" bolts on the hinge side was a real pain. If you have a smaller vehicle like a sedan or a Subaru Outback or something like that it may be easier

But, this thing is huge and holds a lot. We had 2 larger rollaway suitcases, two large duffle bags, 2 sleeping bags and 2 pillows and had room for coats and toiletry bags. It really hold quite a bit. But one of the biggest advantages is has is the price. For the cost of a competing unit from yakithule you can by 5 of these things.

I highly recommend this unit if your budget is tight, especially if you can get someone else to assemble and install it...

(More customer reviews)This cargo carrier works well for me.It was not difficult to put together (I had one person helping me hold it).However, the instructions are not very clear as the manufacturer printed assembly instruction for 3 different cargo carriers in one manual.

I took it on a 600 mile trip and it was fine.However, it scrapes the pavement on a steep driveway installed on a SUV.I used it with a waterproof cargo bag by Rola (#59102). It's rather heavy and may require two people to attach to the hitch.

I like the folding feature.

Not a big deal but worth mentioning so you can make sure they are there before putting it on the car. Very light weight and sturdy.

(More customer reviews)I bought this 'trailer' to haul the extra cargo for a week at the beach.It worked perfectly and I liked the fold up position for traveling without cargo which made the trailer safer for me, and everyone else on the road.It was a pain having to pull the pin every time to access the trunk, since I was traveling around town with it in the up position.Maybe Valley could redesign it a bit to make that easier like my bike rack.

From another review I read before purchasing, the side sections don't seem as sturdy as they should be to support the weight listed, but it did haul everything I needed.I liked the bar design which made tying down a tarp over my goodies easy.

After getting home, I did notice a few spots of rusted steel on the carrier, so not the best paint on it from the manufacturer.Easily taken care of with a wire brush and rust-proof spray paint.
